Jeremy Troy is a Louisiana-born, Århus-based newcomer who’s just getting started on his quest to bridge Black American and northern European musical traditions. The 23-year-old multi-instrumentalist, producer, singer and rapper has already grabbed support from NTS, Rinse FM and Radio 6 Music with his debut single and the second release is here. A psychedelic soul cut titled ‘Moonlight’, it’s the outcome of a self-isolated island ritual.

“I isolated myself on Tunø in the Kattegat sea to reflect and deal with the darkness of my mind I was going through at the time. I sat by a bonfire at nightfall. As the moon came out, it shone brighter than I’d ever experienced before. ‘Moonlight’ came to be in the following week,” Jeremy explains. “The trip evolved into a ritual - sleeping by and keeping the bonfire lit for the next three days. It was as if the moon spoke to me and allowed me to feel hidden emotions and see reflections of myself. The song is a narration of what I felt when the moon was commanding me.”

Again, we’re hit with his unique voice and distinct sound as he effortlessly channels a spiritual, versatile energy combining psychedelic soul with UK bass influences.
